FAQ
How does authentication work?
All endpoints use bearer-key authentication. You pass your API key in the Authorization header as Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. Keys are issued immediately after subscribing via the API Dashboard.
What counts as a request?
Each HTTP call to any /api/v1/ endpoint counts as one request against your monthly quota — regardless of how many results are returned. Pagination calls (using offset) each count separately.
How many results can I get per request?
All plans currently return up to 10 results per request — this will increase gradually. Use the offset parameter to paginate through larger result sets within your monthly request budget.
What is the rate limit?
There is a per-minute burst rate limit on top of the monthly quota. If you exceed it, you will receive a 429 rate_limited response. Monthly quota exhaustion returns a 429 quota_exceeded response.
How fresh is the data?
Starter plan data is updated weekly with a 7-day delay. Growth plan data is updated weekly with a 3-day delay. Scale (coming soon) will have daily updates and real-time freshness.
Does the Growth plan include Clay / Zapier-ready flat format?
Yes. Growth and Scale plans support a flat response format via the format=flat parameter, which is designed for direct ingestion into Clay, Zapier, Make, and similar tools without additional transformation.
Can I look up a company by domain?
Yes. The /api/v1/companies/lookup?domain= endpoint resolves a company record from its website domain and returns funding stats, signals, and tech stack. This is available on Growth and Scale plans.
What data sources do you use?
Data is aggregated from public sources including press releases, regulatory filings, and news. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness — you use the data at your own risk.
Are there refunds?
No. All payments are non-refundable. Once an API key is issued, requests are made, or data is accessed, you are no longer eligible for a refund. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Can I resell or redistribute the data?
No. Reselling raw data without permission is prohibited under our Terms of Service. You may use the data to power your own products and workflows, but not to redistribute it as a standalone data product.
What happens if I go over my monthly quota?
Requests beyond your plan quota return a 429 quota_exceeded error. Your access is not automatically upgraded — you would need to switch to a higher plan from the API Dashboard.
